My Ludum Dare entry Stricken Chicken, which I made with two friends came 39th for humour! Out of over 1600 entries in the jam and 2870 entries total, this has been a huge accomplishment for me. It's cool that I can make a silly game with friends, release it to the world and be rewarded for it. For 3 fifteen year olds developing a game in a basment for a weekend, laughing every time we come up with a new idea, I am super proud currently of this game we made. Even though it may have some bugs here and there (or almost everywhere in Stricken Chickens case) and i may come to resent this game in the future, for now it is a huge accomplishment for me :)

Anyway I have been rambling so go play stricken chicken if you've for whatever reason sumbled upon this post and leave a comment, or leave one here about your ludum dare entry or game development stories. They're fun to read and i always respond.

It's really hard to come up with an idea for a game that sticks with me, that i don't hate, and actually make. I think I have this problem, but I can't be the only one, but I come up with a simple idea, eleaborate on it for 5 minutes, suddenly hate the idea, then an hour later I think it might work, but then the cycle restarts and I hate and love it and hate it until I finally accept that I won't make the game. The only exceptions to this so far have been barriers and shotball. barriers i did brefiely go through the cycle, but it was my first game and once I started the game and finished the first level, there was no stopping me. Shotball, I don't know, I loved the idea from the beginning. unfortunatley it's not very popular... even my ludum dare games Stricken Chicken and Minotaur I went through these phases the whole time during development, but it was for a competition so I had to complete them. Minotaur was my first LD game, but I removed it from the site because it was getting really low reviews because I had horrible webgl implementation. Whatever, it wasn't that good any way. My point is, ideas are hard to come up with, my friend david who helped with stricken chicken knows what I'm tal;king about, he aslways makes amazing prototypes in game maker, and I love them and i can't wait to make them, but then I get the cycle. Sorry david. Any way this has been my rant.

I don't really like ranting... I don't think I'll do this anymore...

I recently particpitated in Ludum Dare with a couple of my friends. We made a silly game about a turkey who is fed up with chickens, and wants them dead, so he kills them (obviously) but it's a little more light hearted.

I think the game was a success, it's pretty fun and for a game we rushed out in three days despite being busy, it's decent. You can play here on newgrounds! Irecently started experimenting with webGL exports from unity, so I used that for our ludum dare game, meaning you can play on any browser, and you don't need the unity web player plugin to play.

Anyway so this was kind of wierd, I'm not sure why I'm actually doing this update, but thanks for reading I guess.

For my next game, I'm partering with a friend. It won't be released on newgrounds, however you will be able to get it from another of other sites. The game is called Shot Ball, it's a four player party game. It's essentially a top down game where you play soccer, but with guns. I hope you guys play the game.
